STEVEN SCOTT, PH.D. JOINS COMMERCE BANK ADVISORY BOARD OF DIRECTORS

(Pittsburg, KS– March 22, 2010) – Brian Sutton, President, Commerce Bank, Pittsburg, recently announced the election of Steven Scott to the bank’s local Advisory Board of Directors.  Dr. Scott is President, Pittsburg State University.  

Dr. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, in mathematics, from Pittsburg State University, an MS in mathematics from Oklahoma State University, an EdS from Pittsburg State and an EdD from Oklahoma State.  He is a recipient of the PSU Outstanding Alumni Award, the Office of Multicultural Affairs’ PSU Outstanding Chairperson Award, and the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center’s Putting Kids First Award. In addition, Dr. Scott’s grant writing efforts have yielded more than a million dollars in externally-funded projects that have benefitted hundreds of teachers, numerous school districts, the Greenbush Service Center and other institutions of higher education.
