SLOAN JOINS COMMERCE BANK BOARD OF DIRECTORS

PITTSBURG, KS - June 26, 2002 - Wendell Wilkinson, president of Commerce Bank, Pittsburg, announces the addition of Steve Sloan to the bank's local advisory board of directors. Sloan is president of Midwest Minerals, Inc., and a University of Kansas graduate. Midwest Minerals provides crushed stone products, agricultural limestone and ready mixed concrete products to customers in Southeast Kansas, Northeast Oklahoma and Southwest Missouri.

Sloan has served in leadership positions for several industry-related associations including Vice President and board member, Kansas Aggregate Producers Association; Young Council Leaders Board Member, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association; and Industry board member, Kansas Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Trustees, Pittsburg State University; Board Member, YMCA Foundation; Board Member, Salvation Army; Board Member Pittsburg Industrial Development Corporation Board of Directors; Board Member, Pittsburg Area Chamber Foundation. Sloan is a 1998 graduate of Leadership Kansas, and a 1997 graduate of Leadership Crawford County.
