ELLIOTT-MILLER JOINS COMMERCE BANK PRIVATE BANKING

(SPRINGFIELD, MO, September 6, 2001) - Robert A. Hammerschmidt, Jr., President and CEO, Commerce Bank, Springfield Region, announces that Sharon Elliott-Miller has joined the Company's Medical and Private Banking Division. Her responsibilities are to provide timely, flexible personal banking services tailored to the needs of busy professionals and executives.

Ms. Elliott-Miller has seven years of banking experience most recently with Firstar. She is a 1984 graduate of Drury University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Ms. Elliott-Miller is active in several civic organizations including, Springfield Area Human Resource Association, Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Committee, Springfield Regional Opera, and Dickerson Park Zoo Ambassador.
