Commerce Bank Gives Money As Part of Grand Opening "Grab for Cash"
KANSAS CITY, MO - January 22, 2004 - Commerce Bank announced today the donation of $408 to the Corinth Educational Foundation. The money was given during the ribbon cutting for the new Corinth Square Banking Center at 83rd and Mission. The Mayor of Prairie Village, Ronald Shaffer; Kevin Barth, Commerce Bank President; Prairie Village Chamber official, Vernon Oestmann and a Prairie Village resident all participated in the grab for cash at the newest Commerce banking facility. Participants were allowed inside the Commerce Money Machine for 30 seconds to grab as much money as they could. All of the winnings were donated to the local Corinth Educational Foundation.
The Corinth Educational Foundation was established in 1998 to help fund a Spanish program for first through third grade students at Corinth Elementary School. The foundation has grown since then to also provide funding for the school library and the use of two part-time teacher's aids. Parent volunteers run the Corinth Educational Foundation.
