Lawrence, KS - March 17, 2004 - Commerce Bank announced the election of David Shulenburger to the Lawrence Board of Directors. Shulenburger is currently the provost and executive vice chancellor of the University of Kansas. He has been with the University since 1974. Shulenburger has held the position of Chief Academic Officer since 1993 and currently holds the faculty rank of professor in the School of Business.
He is past chair of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges Council on Academic Affairs, vice chair of the Center for Research Libraries, board member of BioOne, and currently serves on the boards of numerous other non-profits.
"David's expertise will be a great asset to our Bank," said Mark Heider, bank president. "We are very delighted he chose to join our Board."
Shulenburger earned an undergraduate degree from Lenoir Rhyne College and a master's and doctorate degree from The University of Illinois.
