WHORTON EARNS NATIONAL CERTIFICATION WITH IRA SERVICES PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION

SPRINGFIELD, MO March 17, 2006 – Robin Robeson, senior vice president and market executive, The Commerce Trust Company, Springfield Region, recently announced that Diane Whorton has been awarded the Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) designation. This well respected designation is from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a nonprofit organization sponsored by the American Bankers Association, Washington, D.C. Whorton is vice president and team leader of The Commerce Trust Company’s Springfield Region offices. She has more than 20 years of experience in trust administration and financial services and also holds the certification of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA).

The CISP designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of IRA services. To qualify for certification, individuals must meet certain levels of IRA experience and education, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CISP exam covers many areas including employer plans, IRA documentation requirements, IRA eligibility and contribution requirements, IRA distribution requirements, and other IRA specific issues.

Designed by the ICB and its strategic partner, BISYS Retirement Services, the CISP certification establishes meaningful standards of knowledge and competency for IRA professionals, giving formal recognition to those who meet prescribed standards, continuing professional education, and development requirements. The ICB is dedicated to promoting high standards of performance and ethics in all segments of the financial services industry.

A 2001 summa cum laude graduate of Drury University with a bachelors of science degree in business administration, Whorton successfully completed a three-year program of the National Graduate Trust School

Whorton Earns National Certification With IRA Services Professional Designation at Northwestern University, Chicago, in 1995. Active in professional and civic organizations, she serves as a member of the board of directors of the Springfield Symphony; member, Greene County Estate Planning Council; and member Missouri Trust Committee of the Missouri Bankers Association. Whorton is also a 2005 graduate of Leadership Springfield, and serves on the Allocations Committee for United Way of the Ozarks .
