(St. Louis, Missouri --- April 6, 2004) Commerce Bank is pleased to announce Ellen Simmons has been appointed Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Counsel for The Commerce Trust Company. Ray Stranghoener, President, The Commerce Trust Company, made the announcement.
Bringing twenty-five years of trust and estate planning experience, Ellen Simmons is Senior Trust Counsel and is responsible for managing The Commerce Trust Company financial advisory services. Ms. Simmons is both a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney. Previously with A.G. Edwards, Ms. Simmons was the national manager for estate planning services, supporting approximately 7,000 brokers across the U.S.
"Ms. Simmons' experience and knowledge of trust law, estate planning, tax and financial planning make her an exceptional choice for this position," stated Ray Stranghoener, President, The Commerce Trust Company. "She also brings to Commerce strong consulting and public speaking experience in the areas of estate planning, life insurance, retirement planning, non-profit organization consulting and general tax work."
Ms. Simmons is a member of the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Alzheimer's Association and served on the St. Louis University Bequest and Gift Council. She is a member of several other associations including Missouri Society of CPAs, Missouri Bar Association and Arizona Bar Association. Ms. Simmons has also been featured as a speaker at numerous charitable and other organizations, including appearances on CNN-FN and KSDK-Channel 5. She has been quoted in various national investment magazines and journals. Ms. Simmons earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Louis University.
