Saint Joseph, MO - May 4, 2005 - Pat Speiser will retire from his position as senior vice president of the Commerce Trust Company, a division of Commerce Bank, on May 15. Speiser began his career in the financial services industry in 1979. He has been with Commerce Trust Company for the past 16 years.
Speiser is a 40-year member of the St. Joseph Bar Association and has served as its president and treasurer. He also is a 42-year member of the Missouri Bar Association, a 20-year member and past president of the Heartland Regional Community Foundation Board and co-chair of the foundation's capital campaign, a trustee of the John Sublett Logan Foundation, the past president and treasurer of the St. Joseph Symphony and the past president of the Sertoma Club. In addition, he was awarded the Commerce Trust Company All Star Award in 2003.
Speiser earned a bachelor's of science degree in business administration and a law degree from the University of Missouri.
Brad Scott will take over for Speiser after his retirement. He has been with Commerce Bank for 11 years, serving for the last six years he has been with the Commerce Trust Company. Brad is currently vice president and senior portfolio manager. He will be responsible for leading the Commerce Trust Company in St. Joseph and will retain his duties as senior portfolio manager.
Active in the community, Brad is treasurer of the Midland Empire Chapter of the American Red Cross, president of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Leave a Legacy Foundation, board member of the Performing Arts Association and board member of Leadership St. Joseph, a United Way program. In addition, The Commerce Trust Company awarded him the Portfolio Manager of the Year in 2000 and Top Private Client Portfolio Manager for Outstate Markets in 2003 and 2004.
Brad earned a bachelor's of science degree in economics and marketing from Missouri Western State College.
