COMMERCE BANK ANNOUNCES OFFICER ELECTIONS AND PROMOTIONS

ST. JOSEPH, MO - June 24, 2005 - The Board of Directors of Commerce Bank, St. Joseph, announced the following officer promotions and elections.

Bradley Scott has been promoted to senior vice president and St. Joseph regional manager of The Commerce Trust Company, a division of Commerce Bank. Bradley has more than 11 years of investment management experience. He is a St. Joseph native, and earned a bachelor's of science degree in economics from Missouri Western State College. Bradley will be located at the bank's 4th and Felix location.

Joseph Houts, Jr. has been elected vice president of Business Banking. His responsibilities include business development, community development activities, construction loan supervision, and compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act. Houts has more than 26 years of bank-related experience. He received a bachelor's of arts degree from Westminster College and a Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois College of Law. He will be located at the bank's 36th Street Facility.

Karen Burris and has been elected assistant vice president of The Commerce Trust Company, a division of Commerce Bank. She started with Commerce in 1985 and has been working in trust private client and institutional services division for the last 15 years. Burris will continue to provide administration of personal trusts, estates, IRAs, not-for-profits, endowments and large family relationships. She graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's of science degree from Missouri Western State College. Burris remains active with her church and in the St. Joseph community.

Donna Jackson has been elected assistant vice president of The Commerce Trust Company, a division of Commerce Bank. She will continue to provide administration of personal trusts, estates, IRAs, not-for-profits, endowments and large family relationships. Jackson started her banking career with Commerce Bank in 1974, working in the trust administration area for the last 18 years. She received a degree from Missouri Western State College. Jackson lives in St. Joseph where she is active in her church and the St. Joseph community.

Miki Harris has been promoted to financial services manager at the bank's 36th Street facility. She has over 12 years of banking experience. She will be responsible assisting the branch manager with day-to-day direction of retail banking activities at the branch, which includes sales of retail products, customer service, teller operations, and compliance with policies and procedures.

Stacey Silvey has been promoted to financial services manager of retail banking at the bank's Ashland & Karnes facility. She has worked in the bank's retail area for the past 18 years, beginning her career with Commerce Bank in 1987. Ms. Silvey will be responsible for assisting the branch manager with day-to-day direction of retail banking activities at the branch, which includes sales of retail products, customer service, teller operations, and compliance with policies and procedures.
