New electronic service eliminates paper pile-ups
Kansas City, MO - July 8, 2004 - Now there is good news for those who are tired of cramming shoeboxes or folder files full of bank statements. In an effort to eliminate the hassle of bulky paper statements, Commerce Bank launches E-Statement, a free service that offers customers convenient online access to their account statements. On a monthly basis, an e-mail will be sent to the customer's designated e-mail address when their E-Statement is ready to view through Online Banking. This paperless system allows customers to view their bank records in a timely manner with a simple click of the mouse.
"With the widespread use of the Internet, we wanted to offer our customers another way to manage their accounts online," said James Rucker, executive vice president, Commerce Bank, Kansas City. "It is our hope that E-Statement will offer our customers additional convenience while enabling them to streamline their filing and record keeping process, as well as eliminate unwanted paper."
With Commerce Bank's E-Statement, customers can take advantage of benefits including:
- Quick access - Historically, customers wait for their paper statements to be printed and mailed. With E-Statement, customers receive their statements several days sooner than mailed statements.
- Convenience - Customers have the ability to view and print up to 23 months of past statements* at anytime and anywhere.
- Easy storage- With E-Statement, customers can better organize and store their statements on a disk or hard drive for easy access to all their financial information.
- Free - At the click of a mouse, customers get a simple-to-read E-Statement for free.
When customers enroll for E-Statement, they receive an e-mail each month alerting them that their account statement is available. From this e-mail, customers can click on a link that takes them directly to Commerce Bank's online banking site. Here customers can view a PDF form of their account information, as well as save the file to a disk or their personal computer for future reference. All account information is password protected and presented in a secure online environment. At any time, customers can choose to turn the E-Statement option on or off and update the e-mail addresses to which the E-Statement notification is being sent. If customers prefer, they may also choose to continue receiving their paper statements with an e-mail notice.
There is no limit to how many accounts a customer can enroll in for the E-Statement option. They may choose electronic delivery for all of their eligible accounts or for just one. To sign up for E-Statement, customers can simply enroll at www.commercebank.com.
