Cassville, MO - September 24, 2004 - Jon Horner, community president, Commerce Bank, Barry County, recently announced the election of community and business leader, Phil Hutchens, to the Bank's Board of Directors. Hutchens is president and owner of Hutchens Construction Company, specializing in asphalt pavement production and limestone quarry production for the contract construction industry. A native of Barry County and 1974 graduate of Cassville High School, Hutchens took over the family owned business after his father and company founder, Evan Hutchens, died in 1992. Hutchens Construction employs 70 people and currently operates asphalt plants and limestone quarries in Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas.
Active in industry and business organizations, Hutchens is current member, past board member and past president of the Missouri Asphalt Association; and member of National Limestone Producers, Missouri Limestone Producers, National Asphalt Pavement Association, Arkansas Asphalt Pavement Association, Missouri Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau.
Additionally, he is current member and past board member of Cassville Chamber of Commerce; member of Monett Chamber of Commerce; board member and past president of Progress and Action through Community Effort (PACE); and past board member of Cassville Golf Association.
