Focus On Underwriting Municipal Bonds
Columbia, MO - September 29, 2004 - Michael Hartmann has joined Commerce Bank's Capital Markets Group (CMG) working in the Public Finance Division as Vice President of Investment Banking. Hartmann is responsible for working with municipalities and state government to provide underwriting and financing for public projects. Based in Columbia, Mo., Hartmann will cover municipalities in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois, the states in which Commerce operates.
Hartman comes to Commerce Bank with 25 years of government experience in Missouri in a variety of divisions and positions. He has most recently served as Chief of Staff for Governors Bob Holden, Roger Wilson and Mel Carnahan.

A Missouri native, Hartmann attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo., where he earned both a bachelor's of arts and a master's of arts degree in Geography. He received a master's degree in City and Regional Planning from Harvard University, Cambridge, Ma.
