COLUMBIA, MO, October 6, 2004 - Teresa Maledy, president, Commerce Bank, Central Missouri Region, recently announced the promotion of Michael Ireland to assistant vice president. A Small Business Banking Specialist, Ireland is responsible for implementing business development initiatives to further establish the bank's small business services, including customized lending and money management solutions.
Prior to his focus on small business banking, he was a retail banking officer serving in key positions for the bank including branch manager of Commerce's Business Loop Banking Center. Ireland is a 1998 graduate of Missouri Western State College, St. Joseph, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing.
Active in civic and community organizations, Ireland is a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, serving on the small business committee; board member and treasurer, Phoenix Programs; board member, Columbia Montessori School; and 2003 loaned executive, Columbia Area United Way.
