How do I activate Online Banking and Online Bill Pay?

  • Your checking or savings account number

  • Your mother’s maiden name

How can I get a Visa® Check Card?

To add a Visa check card to your Commerce Bank checking account, call 800-453-2265 or stop by your local Commerce Bank branch

We offer different levels of Visa Check Cards to meet your specific needs (fees may apply):

  • The Classic Card has full ATM functionality with unlimited free Commerce ATM transactions, and can be used for purchases at merchants that accept Visa debit
  • The Gold Card offers free unlimited Commerce ATM transactions plus 3 free transactions at other banks’ ATMs each month, and can be used for purchases at merchants that accept Visa debit
  • The Platinum Card offers free unlimited Commerce ATM transactions plus 6 free transactions at other banks’ ATMs each month, and can be used for purchases at merchants that accept Visa debit
Is there a fee for my Visa Check Card?

There is no fee for the Visa Classic Check Card with any checking account. Visa Gold Check Card, which includes 3 free ATM transactions at other banks’ ATMs each month, is free with CommerceOptionsSM checking accounts (other bank’s ATM fees may apply.) Visa Platinum Check Card is free with a CommerceOptionsSM Premium account, and includes free ATMs anywhere in the U.S. (plus, we'll refund other banks' ATM fees up to $30.00 per calendar month.)

I’ve moved, how do I change my address?

Just stop by the branch with proof of your new address, such as a utility bill with your name on it or a signed and dated lease. Or, log into Online Banking and choose "CUSTOMER SERVICE". Then click on "Update Mailing Address" under "My Profile."

If you’ve ordered checks from us before, we offer you the ability to reorder online. If you prefer to order offline or need to make changes, please contact any Commerce Bank branch location or Customer Service.

How much will my checks cost?

The cost varies, depending on the check type, style and quantity. Reorder your checks today.

How do I get a copy of my check?

You may request a copy by phone or in person at the branch. A fee may apply. You may also print images of your check through Online Bankings at no cost.

How can I transfer funds from one account to another?

You can transfer funds easily through Online Banking, or set up a one-time or recurring automatic transfer – just give us a call at 800-453-2265.

How do I set up a recurring transfer?

In Online Banking, simply click on the “Transfer Funds” tab and select the amount, date and frequency of your recurring transfer.

How do I change my name on my account?

Stop by your nearest branch with a valid ID card and your Marriage Certificate or License. In the case of a name change resulting from divorce, bring your Decree of Dissolution of Marriage. In the event of other occurrences such as adoption, bring any official document that specifies the new name, such as a Court Order.

How do I close my account?

What information do I need to bring to Commerce Bank in order to open
an account?

You’ll need to bring two forms of identification (including a government –issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport or state ID card), employer name and phone number and proof of your address.

How can I set up direct deposit?

Contact your employer’s payroll department – use our Direct Deposit Authorization Form to make it easier.

How can I receive my statements electronically?

In Online Banking, simply click on "CUSTOMER SERVICE," and select "Choose Statement Options/Stop Paper Statements" in the "Statements & Account Information" section.

Overdraft Services

How can I sign up for overdraft services?
  • To sign up for this protective benefit, mark the YES box under the "Overdraft Services" section of the checking account application.
  • To add Overdraft Services to your existing account, visit your nearest Commerce Branch or call us at 800-453-2265 today.
How much does it cost to have overdraft services?

There is no charge to have Overdraft Services on your checking account. However, if you have an overdraft, your Commerce Bank credit card (subject to credit approval) will be charged a cash advance fee, as well as interest, on funds credited to your account to cover the overdraft. Funds will be credited to your Commerce Bank checking account in $50.00 increments.

How can I reach a Commerce Bank representative?

Disclosures:

  1. $3 monthly inactivity fee is charged after 60 days of inactivity. Avoid this fee by keeping your account active. Activity is defined as any transaction, such as a withdrawal, deposit, bill payment or ACH payment. An account inquiry, such as checking your balance in Online Banking or at ATM, is not a transaction and does not count as activity.
  2. Fee of $2 per paper check you write that posts during your monthly statement period. Customer is also responsible for cost of check orders including shipping & handling. Avoid this fee by using Online Bill Pay and Visa Check Card to make your payments.
  3. Must activate Online Banking and sign up for E-Statements to get free monthly statements; fees for paper statements are $1 per month for Check Safekeeping statements or you may choose Check Image statements for $2 per month.
  4. The person listed first on the account must maintain a combined balance of $1,500 in Commerce checking, savings and money market accounts (qualifying balances are determined by using the actual daily balance on the day prior to the checking account statement cycle)
