St. Louis, MO – October 30, 2019 – Korn Ferry recently announced that Commerce Bank has been recognized among other top organizations across the globe as a 2019 Engaged Performance Awards winner. The third-annual award program recognizes employers that have achieved best-in-class levels of engagement, enablement or both. Commerce Bank is a winner in both the engagement and enablement categories.
Winners were selected based on responses to two key question statements in Commerce Bank’s annual employee engagement survey, administered by Korn Ferry:
The statements are proven measures of organizational commitment and strong predictors of overall levels of employee motivation, loyalty and well-being.
In speaking to this recognition, Sara Foster, executive vice president, talent and corporate administration said, “Receiving this award reaffirms what we’ve long believed at Commerce Bank – combining top talent, a strong culture and rewarding work creates a positive environment where people can be their authentic selves and feel engaged and enabled to do their best work.”
Employee engagement is widely used as a critical performance indicator by high performing organizations across all industries. Korn Ferry research shows high levels of engagement and enablement can help boost sales and growth in earnings per share (EPS) by significant measures. Korn Ferry reports companies where employees scored highly on enablement saw nearly triple sales growth and 25% higher EPS growth during a 5-year period than those with low-scoring marks in this area. Similarly, companies where employees scored highly on engagement saw double sales growth and nearly double EPS growth during a 5-year period than those with low-scoring scores in this category.
“Commerce believes, and research supports, that team members who are highly engaged and enabled in the workplace are more effective and committed to go the extra mile. This is a key differentiator for our team members and our customers,” Foster said. “We are thrilled to be recognized by Korn Ferry as an Engaged Performance Awards winner, and we attribute our success in this area to a number of our internal team initiatives including our resource groups and mentorship opportunities, leadership development programs, robust internal communications and recognition programs. As we look to the future, I am confident Commerce will remain a leading employer in the financial services industry.”
