Our Hiring Process

How to apply.

  • You’ll need to create an account to apply. Be sure to attach your résumé and any other documents you deem important for the position in which you’re applying.
  • Once you submit the application, you will receive an email confirming we received it. You can also check on the status of your application by logging in to the applicant tracking system. From here you can track your progress through the recruitment process.
  • You can also create job alerts within the applicant tracking system. This allows us to notify you when similar jobs are posted, so you’ll never miss a job that’s perfect for you.
  • Don’t get discouraged if you don’t hear from us right away. It may take time for us to review your information because a person always reviews each application. And you will always receive a response after we’ve reviewed your application.
  • If you are declined for the role, don’t worry. There are a lot of reasons we may not move forward with your application that aren’t a reflection of your skills and abilities. There may be times that we have an internal candidate for a role, you applied after a candidate was selected, or maybe there is another role you’d be better suited for here at Commerce. No matter the case, we’ll do our best to let you know if you are not selected to move forward in the process as quickly as we can.

If your experience and skills are a good match for an opening, one of our recruiters may contact you for an initial telephone interview. If that goes well, we’ll contact you again and set up an in-person interview. Don’t be nervous, we’re nice people to talk to!

Commerce Bank uses a behavioral-based interview technique, so be sure to research the types of questions we may be asking and how to best answer them. You should also have some ideas about the projects, tasks or accomplishments you’ll want to mention in the interview that highlight your knowledge, skills and abilities.

After you complete your in-person interview and are selected to move forward, we’ll begin any appropriate assessments and pre-employment checks required for the position. If we’re a match and you’re a great fit for our organization, our interview team will contact you and make a verbal employment offer.
