Lynn Tankesley Named Commerce Bank’s Chief Risk Officer
Senior leader to oversee risk management and compliance efforts
In her role as Chief Risk Officer, Tankesley will serve as the top risk management executive of the company with enterprise-wide responsibility for developing, recommending and administering the risk management strategy and systems for all business segments and operational units. She will work closely with all members of the Executive Management Committee of Commerce Bancshares to create an integrated risk framework for the organization and will report regularly at executive meetings to ensure alignment on key issues. Tankesley will also provide updates to the Audit & Risk Committee of the Commerce Bancshares board of directors.
At Commerce, Tankesley is recognized as a thought leader for the Company’s risk management strategy. She has spent her 26 years at Commerce serving in key compliance and risk management leadership positions and brings deep expertise in these crucial areas. Tankesley has direct responsibility for overseeing regulatory compliance, CRA, model risk management, enterprise risk management, Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering (BSA/AML), corporate insurance, corporate investigations, data governance, third party risk, credit review and appraisal review. Her team includes more than ninety risk management staff. She will also serve as the Company’s primary point of contact for all outside regulatory relationships and will manage, report on and oversee progress on all exams and issues arising from exams.
