Commerce launches #DriveUpPups charity campaign for third consecutive year

St. Louis, MO For the third year in a row, Commerce Bank will launch its #DriveUpPups charity promotion in service of local non-profit organizations whose work helps to improve the safety and wellbeing of animals living in our communities.

The promotion, which runs July 1 through September 30, 2023, encourages Commerce customers to bring their dogs with them to a drive-thru bank window, where they can get a treat. Customers are then encouraged to snap a photo of their dog and share it on Instagram, tagging @CommerceBank and using #DriveUpPups. For each of these posts, Commerce Bank will donate $10 to a group of charity partners, up to $10,000. In addition, St. Louis and Kansas City branches will work with Bar-K, a dog-friendly bar and restaurant, to provide Commerce customers who participate in the promotion with a free entry ticket.

“The pups that come visit our branches give our bankers a lot of joy, and this is a nice way for us to thank them — and their owners, of course.” said Adam Steven, director of regional retail banking for Commerce Bank. “We are pleased to support the efforts of seven organizations in the communities we serve who are working to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them.”

Community support from campaigns like #DriveUpPups is an important factor in the functioning of our charity partners. “Financial resources play such a huge role in what we do,” said Shanna Ireland of the Kansas Humane Society. “This fundraiser will allow KHS to provide the care the animals need while in shelter. It allows us to feed, provide medical care, and offer a safe resting place for them until they find their forever home.”

In addition to the Kansas Humane Society, our benefiting charity partners include locations across the region like Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, KC Pet Project in Kansas City, Northeast Missouri Humane Society, Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, Southeast Missouri Pets, Tulsa SPCA and Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph.
