When your day involves juggling more than one role, your banking experience should keep up. Profile Switching makes it easy to move between your personal and business Online Banking profiles — or multiple business profiles — without having to log in to each.

Once your profiles are linked, you can seamlessly switch between them in both Online Banking and the Commerce Bank Mobile App, saving time while keeping everything clearly separated.

Each profile remains separate, with its own accounts, settings and access, so your personal and business finances stay clearly defined. When you link profiles, you’re simply connecting access — not combining information. Linking is completed through a confirmation process that requires approval from the other profile, giving you control over which profiles are connectedfootnote 1.

General

Your profile is a digital representation of your personal or business banking identity and related account information within Online Banking. Each profile has its own login credentials.
If you have more than one profile, you can link these profiles so you can switch to them without having to log in to each.
You can link your personal profile to one or more of your business profiles, and you can link your business profile to your personal profile and to your other business profiles. Profiles associated with Commerce Connections and other online platforms are not eligible for linking.
No. Linking profiles does not combine the profiles’ information or settings. Accounts from different profiles will not appear in a single view. Linking profiles simply allows you to switch between profiles without having to log in to each Online Banking profile.
When you switch to a linked profile, you’ll have access to most functions available in Online Banking or the Mobile App. However, for security reasons, certain functions like updating your Password and Enhanced Security Settings, may require you to log in directly to that specific profile.
No. Linking profiles only allows you to switch to these profiles more quickly. To transfer money between accounts associated with different profiles, go to “Transfers” > “Internal” > “To Other Commerce Accounts.”
Not automatically. Linking is unique to each profile. For example, if you log in to your business profile and link to your personal profile, you'll only be able to switch profiles while logged in to your business profile. If you want the ability to log in to your personal profile and switch to your business profile, you'll need to log in to your personal profile and perform the linking process separately.

Online Banking

To link a profile in Online Banking, select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select "Login, Profile & Security Settings" > "Profiles" > "Link Profile." Enter the login credentials for the profile you want to link. An email will be sent to that profile requesting approval. To complete the process, log in to that profile and select "Approve” from the same area where the request was initiated. If you do not want to link the profiles, you may also select “Decline.”
To switch to a linked profile in Online Banking, select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select "Switch" next to the profile you want to switch to.
To unlink a profile in Online Banking, select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select "Login, Profile & Security Settings" > "Profiles." Under the "Manage Your Linked Profiles" section, find the profile you want to unlink, then select "Unlink Profile."
You should immediately revoke access. In Online Banking, select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select "Login Profile & Security Settings" > "Profiles." If any profiles are linked to yours, you'll see a section titled "Manage Access to Your Profile." From there, you can select "Revoke Access" for any profile you don't recognize or no longer want linked. We also recommend changing your Online Banking Password. To customize your profile name or color of the monogram in Online Banking, select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen and select "Customize Profile" under your profile name.

Commerce Bank Mobile App

You cannot link a profile in the Mobile App. To link a profile, log in to the Online Banking website using your browser and select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select "Login, Profile & Security Settings" > "Profiles" > "Link Profile." Enter the login credentials for the profile you want to link. An email will be sent to the other profile requesting approval. To complete the linking process, log in to that profile and select "Approve” from the same area where the request was originally initiated. If you do not want to link the profiles, you may also select “Decline.”
To switch to a linked profile in the Mobile App, select your profile monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select "Switch" next to the profile you want to switch to.
To unlink a profile in the Mobile App, select your profile monogram in the top-right corner of any screen, then select “Linked Profiles.” Find the profile you want to unlink, then select "Unlink Profile."

You cannot customize your profile name or monogram in the Mobile App. To customize your profile name or color of the monogram, log in to the Online Banking website using your browser and select your profile name or monogram in the top-right corner of any screen and select "Customize Profile" under your profile name.

Disclosures:

  1. Once approved, the linked profile will have access to most Online Banking and Mobile App functionality for your profile. By linking profiles, you authorize the other profile to access your accounts and conduct transactions, which will be treated as authorized by you.
