Commerce online experience is infuriating.
I have been a Commerce credit card holder for nearly 30 years, but if it were not my oldest line of credit, I would CERTAINLY cut it up. I normally use it as my last backup card. The one period of time that I was forced to rely primarily on my Commerce card was the most frustrating period of my financial life. Commerce’s online system lacks so many things that other cards routinely use to support paying your bill and informing you of your financial status. Just as an example, when you go to pay a bill online, you can only pay a minimum payment or the whole payment; the payment screen does not tell you what your last statement balance is so that you can pay your amount due. You have to click out and write it down from another page and go back to payment to make sure you pay your whole bill. This is just one of a hundred examples. My Commerce card was also routinely rejected even though there was plenty of room on it. And I could not use it to pay touchless long after all the other cards had been updated. There are no benefits to using this card that I can remember. I have cards from half a dozen other major banks, and I’d get two or three more from any of them before I’d go near Commerce.
