Your customer service sucks

I will start with the change to the card. I received a new card due to security concerns. The card is marked Credit/Debit. I tried to use it for debit as I had for many years. Declined. Went by branch to get cash from checking at the ATM. Nope. Go inside to find out what is going on and I was told that it was no longer credit/debit. I received no information that was the case. Told them I needed cash from by checking. They ran it as a cash advance on the credit card. I expressed my displeasure at this at the time. Then later I find out I was charged a service fee for that advance. No one told me there was a service fee. I later used the card for for purchases. Four purchases, three times the merchant asked if it was credit or debit. I specified credit. The fourth time, the merchant did not ask. And it ran as debit. Called customer service and they said that should not have happened. During that call, I mentioned being unable to get cash from the ATM and the rep supposedly set me up to be able to get cash from the ATM. No merchant purchases. I tried to use it for ATM and it was rejected. I give up. In relation to this, I saw on my statement that my checking was now being charged a $10 service fee. I called and was told that the account type was no longer supported. It would have been professional to have been informed of that. I don't object to the fee. I object to not being informed. I have been a client of this bank for over 50 years. On top of this is the way Commerce treated my elderly neighbor. They closed his account and did not tell him. He found out by going to store and having his debit card declined. My neighbor's wife was a long time employee of Commerce, and this is the way you treat them? I have moved most of my banking to BOA. The only reason I still have this account is the two lock boxes I have there.

Rewards

I redeemed 13,000 points for a $100 gift card to Home Depot. I waited a few months so that I could do the same and now it's 14,600 points for the same thing! Talk about inflation!
